Joseph Jaquith (1842 to about 1913) was a Billerica glue manufacturer who ran the works on Concord Road later known as the Jaquith Glue Factory with his brother Franklin Jaquith for more than forty years, and one of the town's first cemetery commissioners. He was born on December 3, 1842, the younger son of Franklin Jaquith, the innholder of the Joseph Jaquith House, and Lucy Walker, and grew up on the family land between the Bedford road and the Concord River.

In 1867 the two brothers began making glue near the old bridge of the Middlesex Turnpike; by 1883 Hazen put the business at nearly $15,000 a year. After their father died in 1876, their mother sold them in 1877, as tenants in common, for $1,375 the farm north of the Bedford road, five acres in Pond meadow and another lot, and the other heirs released to them twelve acres running to the river; the deeds already mark "the corner of the old field near the glue house". The agricultural census of 1880 lists the farm under both their names. In 1901 the firm of F. and J. Jaquith, "glue manufacturers and dealers in plastering hair", was on the Old Middlesex Turnpike near Concord Road, and Joseph lived on Concord Road near the railroad crossing.

On October 30, 1909 the brothers divided their land. Franklin quitclaimed his share to Joseph, who sold the lot "commonly called the Glue Factory, with the boilers, engines, gearing, drums and shafts", 1.87 acres on a new right of way from Concord Road, to Herbert A. Lamprell, with the right to keep the dam in the brook for water power, and deeded the western part of the land back to Franklin. The factory passed to the H. A. Lamprell Co. and in 1916 to the Billerica Glue Company.

He took a large part in the affairs of the First Parish. In 1880 the surviving parsonage trustees, among them Thomas Talbot, appointed him a trustee, and in 1881 the trustees sold the old parsonage, the Henry Bowers House, and bought the Marshall Preston House from Luther W. Faulkner for $2,825 as the new one. He was still a trustee in 1898, when he and the other survivors named new trustees. In 1893 and 1894 he served with J. Nelson Parker and Frederic S. Clark on the committee whose report led to the new town hall, the Billerica Town Hall (1895).

In 1899 he signed, with Parker and Herbert A. King, "An Appeal for Our Cemeteries" for the town's cemetery committees, and when the town that March adopted the act on public cemeteries and elected three Commissioners of Public Burial Grounds, he was chosen for two years. He was re-elected and remained a cemetery commissioner until 1913. His wife, Annah M., released her dower in his deeds of 1897 and 1909 and died on June 14, 1914, aged 63. He died about 1913: in March 1914 the town elected John A. Richardson to a two-year term on the cemetery commission, a fund of $100 in Joseph Jaquith's name for the care of a lot in the South Cemetery was added to the town's trust funds that year, and the fire reports of 1915 speak of the brush land of the "J. Jaquith estate".
